Sharon and family, Know that you are surrounded with prayer through this difficult time. I cannot be at the memorial service as we are enroute to AZ. However, you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Dear Shay,
Kirt and I are extremely saddened to hear of Tom’s passing. He was such a wonderful, generous person who took countless classes from us. I will always remember how he gave the $2 bill rings and carved hundreds of bells for waitresses, hotel maids, custodians…people whose hard work made life easier for us. He made so many people smile with his gifts. And I loved his jokes….this summer when he took my class at Doane, he had at least 25 new jokes and funny sayings posted on the board each day. It was an honor to know him. Please extend our deepest sympathy to your children and grandchildren. Tom was so proud of you Shay, and always filled me in on lovely things you were doing for your granddaughters like the tea parties and taking them on special trips. Please let me know if there is anything we can do. Linda Curtis
My Sympathy is extended to Tom’s family during this difficult time. I knew Tom from the Fire Department as well as the Bloomington Association of Retired Firefighters (BARF). Tom was respected by many members of the Department and will be missed.
Tom was a wonderful friend who served his country, his community, his church and his friends and family. He was the president of the Viking Woodcarvers and we were fortunate enough to receive one of his carved bells. I also have a $2 bill ring. He gave many hours of volunteer time to his church and his Fire Department. He was a gentle giant of a man who was a friend to all. When I saw him last week at the Masonic Home, he seemed to be doing so well. It was a shock to hear that he died. We both had roots in Eagle Grove, Iowa and he was proud of his home town. We will all miss him dearly and our thoughts and prayers are with Sharon and their family. Semper Fidelis!!
Shay,
I am so sorry to learn of Tom’s passing. We had many good times together.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.
