April 19, 1928 - March 2, 2013
Charles W. Fraatz, age 84 of Minneapolis. Charlie has concluded his life's journey, a journey that was complete with challenges and tribulations that were equally balanced with the rewards and blessings of God's Grace. A "Gentleman" who sought no accolades for himself, but expressed his faith in the companionship of others who chose to walk alongside him. Preceded in death by his wife, May (Koski) Fraatz and a sister, Eleanor Faber. Survived by his sons, David (Brenda) Fraatz, the Rev. William (Janet) Fraatz and Paul Koski; grandchildren, Charles Thomas Fraatz, Jonathan Fraatz and Eric Fraatz; and former wife, Donnis Schroeder.
Memorials may be directed to the National Stroke Association or to Colonial Church of Edina.
I was very sorry to hear of Charlie’s passing, and I wish to pass along my condolences to his family. My grandmother is Donnis Schroeder, and I spent a lot of time with Charlie while they were married when I was a kid and growing up. He was nothing but loving and supportive toward me and my brother Peter. I know he had been in ill-health for many years, and I feel bad that I haven’t seen him in far too long. God bless him.
