Karsten Monrad Sunne, age 94, of Richfield. Longtime employee of Target. Preceded in death by wife, Ruth. Survived by children, Elaine Sunne, Chris Sunne and wife, Jody; Elizabeth Sunne-Ojeda and husband, Carlos; grandchildren, Megan Conrad; Heidi, Kyle and Karsta Sunne; sisters, Margit Spackman and Sonja ( John ) Naucler.
Monrad was a cool uncle who always enjoyed visiting and hosting our family. I remember his white buick station wagons and riding with him on the new metro freeways in the Twin Cities, going to a few Twins games at the Met and shooting pool & watching Hogan’s Hero’s at his home in Richfield. He had many interesting stories about Target construction projects, the army and about the farm he grew up on in Baudette.
Uncle Monrad was always good for an interesting story on farming or his latest project with Target. He worked into his 70’s for Target! He was a man that loved his family and his extended family. He will join his wife Ruth and many other Aunt’s and Uncle’s, including my Dad, and relatives who preceded him in death. Heaven is having a big Swedish/Norwegian spread of all our tasty favorites. The conversation and stories are constant and very interesting and funny. You will be missed Uncle Monrad.
