George Seavey Baker, age 98, died peacefully on May 24, 2014. Preceded in death by wife, Margaret in 1977 and second wife Lillian in 2000. Also preceded in death by infant son in 1950 and daughter, Mary McGrail in 2005. He is survived by son Tom Baker (Kathy Kelley); grandchildren, Rob McGrail, Debbie (Tom) Soderholm, Dawn (Mark) Engelking, Susan Simons, Michael Baker, Nicole (Jason) Ross, Megan (Peter) Magnuson, Eric (Kate) Wasti and Lucas Wasti; great-grandchildren, Tina (Nick) Kent, Mandi Soderholm, Alanah McGrail, Kelby and Brady Engelking, Christine and Joshua Martindale; great-great-grandchildren, Liam and Amelia Kent and Connor Martindale; also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. George was born June 18, 1915 in Excelsior, MN and graduated from South High, Mpls., in 1933. He retired from Land O' Lakes as a purchasing agent in 1979 after 39 years. For over 16 years he was an active volunteer at Mt. Olivet Home assisting staff and residents. He was an avid Twins fan, bass fisherman and gardener. Founding member of House of Prayer Lutheran Church, Richfield, and active at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church. He loved to travel to Hawaii and Florida and spent many summers at Lower Cullen Lake, Nisswa, MN. George is remembered for his ever-present smile, his generous manner and his dedication to the care of others. "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. John 14:1"

George was my uncle by marriage to his second wife, Lillian. He was loved and will be missed.
