November 5, 1922 - August 22, 2014
Harland James Olson, age 91, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully on August 22 with his family at his side. Proudly served as a photographer in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was an accountant for the Minnesota State Auditor’s office for most of his career. Longtime member of Toastmasters. He volunteered his accounting talents during the tax season, as well as to teach swimming to disabled children. His love of nature included bird watching, canoeing, camping, biking and swimming. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Catherine and son, Martin Olson. Loving father of Corinne Olson, Carolyn Olson and Teresa (David) Bakken; loving grandfather of Mitchell Bakken, also survived by nieces, nephews and friends. Harlan's love and dry wit will be greatly missed.
Memorials to the Minnesota Masonic Home.
