Ryan Roehl - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

August 10, 1977 - May 13, 2016

Ryan Scott Roehl
This week we lost our beautiful son Ryan. He was born in Edina, MN on August 10, 1977 and passed away in Bloomington, MN on May 13, 2016. God truly blessed us with an amazing gift for 38 wonderful years!
Ryan was a gentle, quiet soul who loved his family and friends dearly. He was caring, thoughtul, sensitive, funny sweet, and most of all loving. You could not ask for a better son. We will miss him every day.
Ryan had an infectious love for all movies and music and he could talk for hours about his favoties, and he could lovingly be called a "Star Wars" geek! He loved everything about Star Wars, but more than that he enjoyed family gatherings, fishing with his Dad, watching hockey, playing video games and hiking, biking camping, and traveling with his family. Ryan worked in the Bakery at the Edina Byerly's for 20 years.
Ryan is preceded in death by grandparents, Jerome Roehl, Donald Anderberg and Joy Anderberg. He is survived by his grandmother, Dorrie Roehl; his parents, Randall and Kathryn Roehl; and his loving sister Jennifer Huber, along with his very special nephew Travis Huber and beautiful niece Brroke Huber who he absolutely adored, and his uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
We receive comfort knowing that he is in the arms of our Savior Jesus Christ and we will be spending eternity with him!

I barely can find the words to express how much we will miss you. You are one of the nicest, most gentle and loving individuals, that we have ever known. We feel blessed to have been a part of your family and your life. I remember the summer you were born and how warm it was. Kathy stopping by your Grandma and Grandpa’s house and sitting in the back yard, with her feet in a pool of cool water, because her ankles were so swollen. I had never seen anyone “that” pregnant, but so happy for what was to come. You are such a blessing to everyone that has known you. I promise to never miss another Star Wars movie.

Ryan – this poem is for you, all my love, Aunt Joan:

Remember Me In Your Heart – Unknown

To the living, I am gone,
To the sorrowful, I will never return,
To the angry, I was cheated,
But to the happy, I am at peace,
And to the faithful, I have never left.

I cannot speak, but I can listen.
I cannot be seen, but I can be heard.
So as you stand upon a shore gazing at a beautiful sea . . .
As you look upon a flower and admire its simplicity . . . .
    Remember me.

    Remember me in your heart:
    Your thoughts, and your memories,
    Of the times we loved,
    The times we cried,
    The times we fought,
    The times we laughed.
For if you always think of me,
    I will never have gone.

The writings about Ryan are so true to what I knew off him. My connection with Ryan was mostly through the eyes of his parents, who saw him to be a caring, loving, thoughtful, and fun loving young man. The loss of Ryan in this world creates a gap and sadness that is hard to imagine being filled. An individual like Ryan Roehl cannot be forgotten, and he will always live in your heart and may his kindness and touch always be a part of your world.

Randy, Kathy and Jenny – May you sense Gods care surrounding you as no one else can, may you sense Gods peace in the midst of sadness that is beyond logic, and may you have an assurance that you will spend eternity with Ryan in Heaven – catching up on all the moments and happenings that will take place when you are apart. I am praying for you, thinking of you and believing for God’s hope and grace to fill your hearts, minds, spirits and beings today and the days to come. much love to you all. LJ

    Ryan,
We just found out about your passing. We have been customers of yours at the bakery for years. We knew something must have happened but were afraid to ask. I finally got up the nerve to ask where’s Ryan? Did he get transferred? I knew the person was new and felt safe knowing he couldn’t possibly have known but he said that you had passed. I immediately called Byron and told him you were gone. Ryan, I want you to know that we saw you. The real you. We will plant a rose bush in our garden for you like we do for everyone we have lost. You are free now my friend. Your struggles and burdens are lifted! God bless you!
