Edward Sorensen

Edward C. Sorensen, age 94, of Richfield, died September 20, 2016. Edward is preceded in death by wife of 60 years, Pearl Sorensen; mother, Jean Sorensen and sister, Dorothy Sherman. Edward is survived by son, Edward C. Sorensen, Jr. (Mary); daughter, Linda M. Johnson (Tex); grandchildren, Kelly Miller (Eric), Matthew Kern and Eric Sorensen; great-grandchildren, Lauren Miller, Evan Miller, Andrew Miller and Joshua Miller. He also has nieces and nephews and extended family at OPH. Edward was a World War II Navy pilot and went on to fly commercially for Wisconsin Central, North Central Airlines and finished his 33 year flying career with Republic Airlines. Ed and Pearl's favorite moments were times at their cabin at Moose Lake, MN, and family gatherings. Ed enjoyed fishing, sailing and golf. Ed faithfully delivered Meals-On-Wheels, and as a couple they volunteered at Our Saviour's shelter and had a heart for the active military from their church. Ed was a regular at the Original Pancake House in Edina where he developed many close and caring friendships for which his family will be forever grateful. Thank you to Dr. Josaleen Davis for her kindness and compassion, and the staff at Presbyterian Homes in Bloomington. No words are adequate to describe the gratitude the family feels toward the Allina Hospice Team and J.A. Wedum Hospice for their phenomenal care. Our deep appreciation to all of our friends and family for their prayers and cards.
