Maury and Betty have been our neighbors for over twenty years. We spent many hours conversing across the chain-link fence and many more sitting on our respective patios. Maury was a fine man, a gentleman in every sense of the word and a dear friend. Throughout the years, we’ve gotten to know the rest of the family and our lives have been truly blessed by all of them. My fondest memory of Maury is when I’d pull into the driveway after work and see him grilling. I’d get the familiar wave and then he’d amble over to chat. After our chat, he’d always say, “So long, pal.”

So now, I return the salutation.

So long, pal–rest easy and in peace.

    Brad, Debbie and Anna Gregory
