Floyd was such a supportive, special friend and mentor to me as I did my pastoral internship at Woodlake Lutheran Church in 2003-2004. Ann too! His loved ones have my sympathy and I am grateful for the faith that Floyd and I shared – death is not the end for those who have died in the promise of eternal life through Christ Jesus!

1959, 6th grade assembly, Portland Elementary School, Richfield. In walked Sgt. Roman of the Richfield Police Dept. He walked over to me and said Hi. I was so impressed, I couldn’t speak, I never met a police officer before! Fast forward to 1984, I was now a Minnesota State Trooper working auto theft cases with the BCA Investigators. Into my office walked Assistant Superintendent Roman. My mind went back to 1959. I reminded him of that first meeting, and we had a good laugh over it. I was still impressed, and I always will be. Floyd, thank you so very much for being a role model for me. You touched so many people’s hearts, you will never be forgotten!

  3. Steve Hennessy says:

I had the honor of serving with Floyd Roman as his counterpart at the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for many years. He was a consummate professional in every sense of the word and he contributed so very much to the field of law enforcement throughout his career. He was widely respected throughout the State of Minnesota and will be missed.

Greetings to the Roman Family. You may not remember me but I was a neighbor to your family (on Queen Avenue) up until my family moved to Burnsville in my 4th grade. The Roman family was so very kind to me and I had such a good friend in Peggy. I have often thought of you, Peggy, and wondered how you are. I am reaching out to give my condolences to each of you for both your parents. Your parents were very kind to me, often allowing me to sleep over at your home. Plus, your Mom made the BEST doughnuts!!
Both your parents were great assets to our community and I am sure must be greatly missed.
