Tex A. Johnson, age 79, of Bloomington, died December 4, 2018. Tex was preceded in death by parents, James and Lucille Johnson; brother, Larry Johnson; sister, Lavina Youmans; son, Bryan Johnson and in-laws, Edward and Pearl Sorensen. Survived by wife, Linda; son, Mark; step-children, Kelly (Eric) Miller and Matthew Kern; grandchildren, Lauren, Evan, Andrew and Joshua Miller; nephews, extended family and friends at OPH. Tex was loved by family and friends for being spontaneous and fun-loving, as well as having a generous, hardworking and determined spirit. His favorite times were trips to the family cabin, Door County, OPH, Friday fireside men's group and spending time with family. He also enjoyed gardening, working on home projects, reading, politics and participating in Toastmasters. Tex volunteered throughout his life, but particularly enjoyed various opportunities in his church from working with youth, men's group, facilitating a 12 step Christian Living group and assisting with the annual Lenten Soup Suppers.

A special thanks to Dr. Eric Weinshel, Marynne Kopischke, CNP, and Sarah Kruell, RN, OCN of Minnesota Oncology, Dr. Michael Meidema, Minneapolis Heart Institute and the physicians and nurses on the 4th floor at Abbott Northwestern hospital for their skilled and compassionate care.
