Andree Raymonde Hovelson
of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the age of 94.
She was born in Paris, France in 1924 and met Army Air Corps Sgt. Charles Hovelson in 1944 as the troops came to France. They were married in Paris in September of 1945 and she came to the United States on a “war bride” ship later that year. They lived most of their married lives in Minnesota and a short time in South Dakota. She moved to Greenville to live with her daughter in 2008.
Surviving are daughter, Rose (Art) Springer of Greenville; and son, Bruce (Barbara) Hovelson, of Brookings, SD; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Tim) Watson, Chad Springer and Darren (Eden) Springer, of South Carolina, Aaron (Kayla) Hovelson and Aric (Jenny) Hovelson, of South Dakota, and Adam (Sara) Hovelson, of Arizona; 24 great grandchildren; one brother, Jean (Madelyn) Guennego, of France; and several in-laws, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents Andre and Raymonde Guennego; a sister, Lucienne, and a brother, Jaques.
