Hilda A. Chmielewski,
Age 93, of Bloomington, passed away on February 24, 2019. She was born on September 13, 1925 in Avon, Minnesota, to Louis and Catherine Raab. She lived there until she left the farm and worked at the St. Paul Seminary. She met her husband, Bob, at the Prom Ballroom and they married in 1951. The majority of their married life was spent in Bloomington. Hilda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Faith, family, and dear friends were most important to her. Hilda was immensely proud of her family and always supportive. She leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. Hilda is survived by her daughters: Andrea (John) Shettles of Batavia, IL, and Shelly Chmielewski of Blaine, MN; grandchildren Kelly (Andrzej) Nycz of St. Charles, IL, Melissa (Jim) Schmidt of Cape Girardeau, MO, and Scott Hinrichs of St. Augustine, FL. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Kasia & Mateusz Nycz, Phoenix & Portia Schmidt, Caleb & Laci Hinrichs, and one grand-dog; brothers Steve Raab of Sartell, Joe Raab of St. Joseph, Martin (Pat) Raab of Yankton, SD, Meinie Raab of Albany, Louis Raab of St. Michael. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, infant sister, Agnes; sisters Betty Clary and Marie Schirmers, and brother, Leo Raab. The family would like to thank Edgewood Senior Living nurses and staff and Allina Health Hospice for the loving care given to Hilda at the end of her life.
