Kathleen Ann Von Bargen (Kearns)
Kathleen ended her long journey among us on August 25, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, recently by her daughter, Iris, and brother, Lyle Kearns, and the babies she lost long ago, Larry and LuAnn. She is survived by her son, Gerald and daughter, Gail Von Bargen (Howard Goldberg); grandchildren, Jereme (Sara), Heather (Matt Macken), Adam (Andrea) and Jared (Natascha) Von Bargen, Emily Goldberg, and 7 great grandchildren. Kathleen was born into the Great Depression on April 27, 1931 on her grandfather’s farm in Eau Galle, Wisconsin to Edward and Rose (Black) Kearns. Ever proud of their large, loving family, she was the eldest of 11. Kathleen married Donald Von Bargen in 1949. An industrious young couple, they remodeled or built 3 homes in Red Wing, MN before moving to Bloomington, MN in 1962. Kathleen’s first job after high school was painting the flowers on Red Wing Pottery and she continued to share her artistic talents throughout her life. Kathleen took great pride in her home and family and enjoyed many close friendships and social groups. Her strong faith maintained her to the end of her days.
