Laura Marcella Thompson
Age 95, of Richfield. Laura Marcella Thompson passed away October 17, 2019 at the age of 95. She was surrounded by family and friends. We will remember Laura (Mom) for her abundant loving personality and being a gifted artist: painter, musician, dancer, weaver, ceramicist, stitcher, and fiber arts wizard. She would take raw wool all the way to beautiful woven articles, including making her own natural dyes. Laura had an insatiable curiosity! She was a collector of natural artifacts as anyone who hiked with her can attest; filling our house with bizarre seed pods and the like from all over the world. Laura is survived by her husband of 72 years, Paul Thompson; children, Susan (Timm) Phillips, Margaret Thompson (Dale Buckentin), Stephen Thompson, and Mark (Kirstin) Thompson; grandchildren, Jessica (Bradley) Singer, Rebecca (Luke) Woelber, Paul Tushaus (Kim McCorkle), Benjamin (Bobbi Jo) Tushaus, Cameron (Katie) Thompson, Tonja (Chad) Weaver, Ashley Thompson (Mike Dinwiddie), Brittany (Matt) Heck, Douglas Thompson, David Thompson, and Samuel Thompson; and great-grandchildren, Dakota Lee, Colton, Danielle, James, Patrick, Dakota Jane, Abigail, Toni, Ava Jo, Luca, Antonia, Braylon and Makenzie; and many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Lena Jones; and brother, Frank Montgomery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Red Cross or the Environmental Defense Fund.

Paul, we are so sorry to hear of the passing of Laura. She was a beautiful lady—inside and out. She will be greatly missed. We feel very fortunate to have had so many wonderful visits with the two of you, and also getting to meet some of your family. We send our love to all of you, and also from our grandson, Dalton, who always liked joining us at our meetings at Bennigans.
