I have had the pleasure to have met Uncle Jimmy on a few occasions…
My God bless him and keep him free from all that took him.
My condolences to all his family and friends
My Cousin Jimmy. When I first moved to MN he befriended me like no other. Golfing, hockey games, and so much more. He made sure I was okay. A couple of years later he did the same for my sister when she moved to MN. My sister and I will be forever thankful!
Here’s to the man that had a BIG heart, that cared about people’s well-being, that was always a joy to be around. Rest In Peace my friend, we will tee them up again someday!

I was sitting here listening to “Benny & The Jets” song on the 70’s radio station. Whenever this song plays ever since 1973 when I was just 12 yrs old, I can’t help but think of Jimmy. Our boys hockey team at Sibley Park, coached by Jimmy that year called ourselves “Benny & The Jets”. Now I am 58 yrs old and 46 yrs have gone by & I think of Jimmy so often, especially when I hear that song. I googled James Benedict to see what came up and I am sad to see that he has just recently passed. I would always drive by the Benedict house above Sibley Park and would hope that I might catch a glimpse of Jim not knowing whether he even lived there anymore. Jimmy & Dick Lenhart “Pumkin Head” had such a positive impact on my life at such an early age and that has stuck with me all of these years. They were both devoted to the kids at Sibley Park – So much compassion, comfort, support, leadership, love & much more. I am FOREVER grateful for Jimmy!!! May god bless & keep him forever. Thoughts & Prayers to Laurie & family.
