Isaac Christenson
Age 31, passed away suddenly on August 6, 2020. Isaac is survived by his mother, Nancy Christenson (Craig); father, Robert Carl Schalow; daughter, Kira Rose and her mother, Sophie Rae Leonard. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Craig Christenson (Karen), Joe Christenson (Patty), Kevin Christenson (Matzuko), Marybeth Christenson-Jones (cousin, Natali Beth Christenson), Daniel Christenson (Yun), Jan DeShon, Suzanne Schwappach (Larry), Andria Christenson, Steven Christenson (Jackie), and Stacey Christenson, and numerous cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandpa, Chuck Christenson; grandma, Harriet Christenson and cousin, Michaela Beth Jones.
Isaac didn’t just live life, he experienced it. He was that person that you could go to with any problem, big or small. He was not one to judge others and he embraced and comforted people wherever they were on their journey. His sense of humor and charisma lit up every room and gave people a feeling of peace and acceptance. He was the light of Nancy’s life and they had many adventures together.
Isaac loved going to the lake, campfires, s’mores, hanging out with his cousins and fishing with his mom and Grandpa Chuck. He loved to play hockey. Isaac’s legacy lives on in the life of his beautiful daughter, Kira Rose. She has inherited his enthusiasm, good looks, curiosity, and great sense of humor. Isaac struggled with addiction but had many periods of time filled with sobriety and hope. Although his life ended much too soon, the memories created in his short time will live on in the love of his mother, Nancy, his other two special girls Sophie and Kira, and all his friends and family who loved him.
My Dear Dear Son Isaac
It seams like yesterday that you were making everyone laugh with your impersonation of Al Pacino. You were a Star. May you continue to shine brightly in the sky above.

Please understand that due to coved we can not have a funeral that is open to everyone. We are only allowed 60 people at the funeral. We have tried to contact some of his closest friends. Isaac was very popular and loved by so many and we understand that. We will have a link on Zoom for you to watch from home. We will also have it videotaped and downloaded on YouTube so everyone has a chance to watch.
Thank you for all the wonderful comments and stories you have shared on Facebook. Please feel free to share more stories on this site. I will truly cherish them all.
Love His Mom
Zach we will miss you so much. Minnesota visits there will be an empty spot for sure. Thank you how you always treated me with such respect. Till we see each other again. Love your Aunt Jan
Dear Nancy, (and the entire Christenson Family) my heart aches deeply for your loss. Those early years with your son meant so much to me and upon hearing this tragic news, many wonderful moments came flooding back this week. “Bungadoos”, parades and Halloween’s, Christmas’ and countless hours together. Many great memories of a wonderful boy!
Peace be with you all.
“ All things through Christ, which strengthens me. “

Dear sweet Tom,
You gave us so many memories. We were a team. I am forever grateful that you took us under your wings. Lake Vermillion, Sante Fe, Izaty’s resort and the Northern Lights, Fourth of July Parades and more. God brought us all together because together we were strong. Thanks for all the memories. I wish you and your family the best.
Love Forever
Nancy and Isaac
I am very saddened by the sudden loss of Isaac. Although I haven’t seen him in nearly 10 years, he was a big part of my childhood and teenage years. I am forever grateful for everything you and Zak did for me when I was younger. I will cherish the good times. May he be at peace and live on thru is daughter. Much Love, Justin
Nancy: my heart aches for the loss of Zach. I know Marcus treasured the friendship they had and the fun times they shared. Please know that you are in the hearts and thoughts of many. Although I wish I could attend Zach’s service in person, in this time of COVID I send my prayers and support from afar, and wish you peace and healing. Cindy Singleton
Thanks Cindy
We love Marcus. He was so much fun when he went to San Diego with us. I hope he will be able to join us on Friday.
