Norleen L. Schmidt - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

May 26, 1935 - January 11, 2021

Norleen passed away peacefully on January 11th, 2021 at her daughter’s home. She was surrounded by both daughters, Cheryl and Debbie, and a few family members. She was born on May 26, 1935, in Perham, MN to Walter and Minnie Sieling. She went to her Heavenly Home where she was reunited with her husband, Herbert Schmidt (1935 to 2004) of 49 years, their son, David Schmidt (1959-2020), her parents, brothers, Arlin and Floyd Sieling, and many other family and friends. She will be greatly missed by many. We all have many fond memories that we will always hold dear. She was proud to say that she worked until she was 80 years old. She loved children and was always happy to see her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After doing daycare for years she never lost her love of children, they always made her smile. Norleen is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (John) Peterson-Morency; David’s wife, Fay Schmidt; Debbie (Tom) Roach. Grandchildren, Laura (Jesse) Bunker, Angela (Jessie) Buhr, Gregory (Erica) Freeman, Christopher Schmidt, Nicole (Abe) Wilson, Jamie Roach, Cayla Potter, Rachel Roach, Scott (Whitney) Peterson, Lucia Peterson, Travis Roach, Samuel Peterson, Lindsey Schmidt, and Heidy Peterson. 1. Diane K Bauck says:

Sincere sympathies on the loss of Norleen. She was a great quiet role model of the fruits of the spirit. She is now having a great reunion with her family and friends. She is so happy and loved. Davin has told me of the happy reunion with Dave, Herb, and her parents. Her purpose in Heaven, her home, has begun. We hate to see them leave us on Earth, but God says their purpose here is over and it’s time for them to come home. We send prayers of comfort and peace to all. May God send you strength. Condolences Love Diane and Dean Bauck I sure will miss out talks and her words of wisdom.

Norleen was married to one of my cousins. I remember seeing her and Herbert along with other cousins when we visited the Schmidt relatives in Minnesota manyyears ago..Though not being there, our thoughts and prayers are with all of the family. May our Lord and Savior sustain and keep yourfamilies as you journey thru the coming days.
    Blessings to you all,
Jann (Schmidt) Blanchard and Roger Blanchard
