Steven K. Ziemke passed away on January 25, 2021 after a long battle with lung and heart disease. Steven was born December 1, 1948 to the late Ervin and Wanda Ziemke in Minneapolis.
Sgt. Steven Karl Ziemke served in the U.S. Army from 1969 -1971 and received the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry and Bronze Star.
His final act of service was to donate his corneas through the University of Minnesota.
He is survived by wife and best friend, Ellen Ziemke, and one brother, Richard Ziemke. He will be missed by his beloved dog. Zena. Also survived by two sons, Steve and Brett and grandchildren. Further survived by sisters-in-law, Rita (Jay) Jens and Patricia Mauer (David Ziemke). Also survived by many wonderful cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by one brother, Ervin (David) Ziemke, one sister-in-law, Donna (Paul) Grumann and one son, Chad.
