Kent and Kari – we, a lot of her church friends and the Romstads, are so sorry your mom is not with us anymore but rejoice that she is Now at peace with her Heavenly Father and your Dad. She was a treasure and a privilege to know. May your good memories sustain you in the especially hard times.
Thank you Anne. You and your WHOLE family were such a huge part of our mom’s life! And our dad’s too. Thank you for that. Kari and Kent

May love peace and comfort surround you all at this time.
Please know that Marilyn was the kindest, nicest friend anyone
could wish for. We were friends for many years, and the memories
of those times will be in my heart forever. She was so proud of you
all and loved you so much. She is at peace now and I know that
she and Jerry are together again. God bless you and your families.

What can I say? You meant so much to mom. You were one of the few remaining connections from Aberdeen that was there when her childhood happened. That includes all three sisters. Shared memories with someone that was actually there. I don’t think many people think about those connections until you get to a certain point in your life and if you make it to that time those connections are very important and mean so much. Thank you so much for being there and staying in touch with mom.
As one of the few remaining cousins left on the Obermeyer side of the family I
have enjoyed all of the emails and conversations with Marilyn over the years. I will miss
that. Now she is at peace, Judy & Jerry Miller Watertown, SD
Kent, Kari & family-we have lots of fun memories of things our families did together: camping trips, football games, ethnic dinners, Dorothy & Marilyn sharing a WLC office for about 10 yrs., & Jeff & Kent’s crazy flavored malts. You are in our prayers. Enjoy the many very good family memories.
I still make the occasional blue malt when I’m feeling nostalgic! In going through mom’s things I found a wonderful photo album with the photos from those Boundary Water trips. Some of the very best times of my “Wonder Years!” Your family played a significant role in my youth and we are forever grateful for your family’s friendship.

I send my sympathy to Marilyn’s family. Marilyn and I graduated from Central High School the same year. I still live in Aberdeen and drive by her family home often always thinking of Marilyn and Mary Ellen. Mary Ellen was my sister’s friend. Facebook has been the best as Marilyn and I have re-connected and have enjoyed re-kindling a friendship. Sincere hugs to her family.
Kari and family
So sorry for the loss of your Mom. She was such a lovely woman. May she Rest In Peace with your Dad. Much sympathy to your entire family
Cousin Brenda
Kari, Kent and family, I was saddened to learn of your mother’s passing. We were close friends in our church and through junior and senor high school. In fact, we went to the senior prom together. We enjoyed our relationship and maintained constant contact via Email. We shared our private thoughts and good news as well as difficult times. She was very important to me. My late father-in-law once told me that you won’t get over the loss of a loved one, but you’ll adjust. Your adjustment will not be easy, but savor the good memories she created over the years. I was Marilyn’s “boss”-actually it was the other way around!-when I first came to Woodlake. I deeply appreciated all her support and advice during those years. Gerri and I and so many others will all miss her. – Pastor Mark Wegener
Mom really liked working with you and I could tell in many conversations with her over the years that she respected you very much. To me that means a lot because she had a very deep faith and saw many ministers come and go. She definitely had a “front row seat” for all of them!
My sympathy to the family especially Kent, Kari and Kirsten.
Dale, so great to hear from you. You will always hold a special place in my personal, musical journey as you recruited me to play the trumpet in all six Easter services starting at 6am when I was only in 7th grade! Mom told the story all the time of me being so nervous that I was up at 4:30am practicing that morning with all the windows open and I woke up the neighbours. After that morning I never had stage fright and have never been nervous in front of large groups. I always had fun playing with you.
M as I called her because I had trouble spelling Marilyn has left a huge hole in our lives. Kathy and I loved her as if she were our own mom. You can’t say enough for all she did at Applewood Pointe. M was the first person we met when moving in. We kept giving her wine in hopes to find one she liked. No luck. At one point we had 9 Words with Friends games going at once. She will be missed but remain in our hearts forever.
Mom really felt a connection with you two and considered you dear friends. Thank you very much for that friendship and for always being around for her. She especially appreciated that after dad passed.
