Gary H. Gloege

Gary Herbert Gloege died peacefully on January 15, 2023. He was born to Herbert Edward and Mabel (Beckley) Gloege on July 30, 1940 in Minneapolis. He graduated from Washburn High School, served in the Naval Reserves, and earned a BS in accounting at Mankato State University. He would eventually spend most of his career as an accounting manager at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association in Minneapolis.

As a young adult he was a member of Park Avenue Methodist Church where he met his wife, and later served on the church board. He married Helen Raney in 1967 and they had four children: Peter, Tim, Daniel, and Stephen. Gary was an avid gardener, a lover of Lake Superior's North Shore and cross country road trips, and he was a connoisseur of all things sweet.

Although Gary struggled with Parkinson's later in life, he was thrilled to welcome four daughters-in-law (Rochelle, Lisa, Ali, and Erin) and then nine grandchildren into the family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Darlene Heymann and Mary Lou Marsolais, and his son Daniel Gloege. He loved and was loved and will be missed dearly.
