Marjorie "Marge" (Wilberg) Hauge, Age 96, of Minneapolis, passed away on July 13th. Marge was born in Taylors Falls, MN to Edith and Arthur Wilberg. She moved with her family to a farm near Amery, WI, when she was five years old. After high school Marge attended Augsburg College, graduating in 1950 with a sociology degree. She worked as a social worker in Fergus Falls, MN where she met her future husband, Jim Hauge, who was visiting there. Jim and Marge were married in 1953 and began their married life in Minneapolis. Marge worked at Elliot Park Settlement Home for two years and then quit to be a stay-at-home mom to their children. She was active in her church for many years and served on the boards of Augsburg College Alumni, Fairview Hospital Auxiliary, and Augsburg Associates. She and Jim loved to travel, visiting many countries in Europe and Asia, as well as many places in the US.
Marge is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Jim; her parents, Edith and Arthur Wilberg; sisters, Lorna Sanders and Joanne Wilberg; sister-in-law, Mary Wilberg; and nephew, Mike Sanders. She is survived by her children, Dan (Laurie), Beth, Pete (Janet); grandsons, David (Gabrielle) and Michael; three great-grandchildren; brother, John Wilberg; and brother-in-law, Paul Sanders.
Memorials may be given to Bethel Lutheran Church, Augsburg University, or to a charity of donor's choice.
