Leon Extrand, 98, of Minneapolis passed away on December 24, 2024. He lived many beautiful years with his partner, Frank out in California - living in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Valley Center together. Leon was an accomplished WWII veteran who lived an amazing life in what he used to call the "Banana Patch."
Leon is preceded in death by his longtime partner of 53-years, Frank Krekelberg; parents, Fred and Elfie Extrand (Holmberg); and brother, Tom Extrand.
He is survived by brother Fred Extrand, and many nieces and nephews.
Leon will be interred with his partner Frank at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in the Spring. Details to follow.
Memorials preferred to the family to put towards a memorial bench for both Leon and Frank at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
