Jeannette Bollum (Kjera)

Jeannette Bollum (Kjera), age 91 of Richfield, passed away on January 31, 2012. Born July 10, 1920 in New Prairie Township, MN to Sophie and John Kjera, the 12th of 16 children. She always welcomed us with a hug and held our large extended family together. Loved playing the piano, sing-alongs and was the heart and soul of many Christmases and gatherings, along with her sister, Elaine. Preceded in ddeath by siblings, Alfred, Margaret (Hobbs), Roy, Melvin, Valborg, Leona (Levin), Valborg, Walter, Iver, Ralph, Loren, Elaine and Muriel (Aslagson) and her beloved husband, Donald (killed in WWII). Survived by two sisters, Carolyn Pederson and Eunice Sylvester; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jeannette first worked as a rural school teacher and then in hospital business offices and at BlueCross until 1982. She was a tireless volunteer at Oak Grove Lutheran Church, Ebenezer Auxiliary, and a member of Gold Star Wives. An ever constant star, the twinkle in her eye remains with us.
