Bernard Ralph "Bernie" Eschweiler, age 97, of Minneapolis. Passed away on August 12th. Attended Phillips Junior High and graduated from South High School in 1936. Began his working career as a paper boy on the corner of Chicago and Franklin Ave. in Mpls. Worked for Minneapolis Moline for over 18 years, and then retired from D.W. Onan Co. where he was instrumental in developing a diesel engine. In the early forties, Bernie established a summer home on Big Sandy Lake that he enjoyed for many years with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Marjorie; and his sister, Bernice Johnson. Survived by his daughter, Jane Eschweiler; and nephew, Ron (Sharon) Johnson; three great-nieces, Deborah, Elizabeth and Rebekah; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Bernie it was such a joy to have know you these past 20 years. I love all the sayings I got from you, the laughs and hearing about all your mechanical knowledge. Your spirit of never giving up amazed me. There is always time to think through a problem. You are truly missed my friend. See you on the other side.
