"Bud" Gerhard A. Swanson
Age 83 of Richfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on 12/15/16. Born 4/8/33 in Grant County MN he was raised in Brandon and Kensington MN. He served his duty proudly in the US Army. Married in 1959 to LuAnn Ziegelmann of Alexandria, MN. Retired in 1988 from North Central/Republic/Northwest Airlines. Survived by loving wife, LuAnn Swanson; children, Lynn (Gary) Opatz, Julie Swanson (Timothy Morris); Gary (Rhea) Swanson and Paula Swanson (Barb Caddy); grandchildren, Holly (Nick) Jensen, Scott Opatz, James McMillan, Ellen Benson and Cori Benson; great-grandchildren, Isabelle Harris and Brantley Pagitt; sisters, Marion Rankin and Marvis Bergstrom; and other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents, Gust and Minnie Swanson; and siblings, Inez Rautio and Gordon Swanson. Bud loved fishing, gardening, spending time at the cabin and music. More than anything else, he loved his children and grandchildren. Thank you to Richfield Medical Group, MN Oncology, Fairview Hospice and Home Health Care for their care.

Sorry for your loss. I have great memories of your parents and playing outside. Wish you all peace and comfort knowing he is in a better place. He is looking down on us all and not missing a thing!!
