Carole Ann Stockman - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

March 5, 1945 - December 9, 2024

Carole Ann Stockman (née, Radke) passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024. Carole was born in 1945 in St. Paul, MN.

Her family moved when she was a young child to Mendota Heights, where she met lifetime friend Cory, and later graduated from Sibley High School. After receiving her education degree from UMN Twin Cities and beginning her teaching career, Carole met the love of her life, Wayne, and they married in 1971. Wayne and Carole then moved together to Burnsville, where they spent nearly 50 years in the same home, raising their three children and being very active members of the community, particularly as members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. After retiring from teaching, Carole was also a frequent volunteer at Mission Outpost at Prince of Peace. Carole served as a role model by exemplifying the importance of family, values of hard work, faith in God, and service to community.

Never one to sit still, Carole was always on the go! She is remembered for the joy she found in being very active. She could often be found bustling around the kitchen (where she made her famous Thanksgiving dinners for a crowd), walking one of the many dogs she loved throughout her lifetime, swinging a golf club or hitting a tennis ball. Carole had a sparkling smile and always went out of her way to make sure everyone felt welcome and well taken care of in any setting. An avid traveler, she also enjoyed visiting destinations both near and far. What she loved most of all, however, was time at the lake in the summer where she enjoyed family time, boating by day, and sitting on the swing listening to the loons by evening.

In recent years Carole fought a valiant fight against Lewy Body Dementia, receiving amazing support from her companion and friend, Jaana, as well as all the wonderful caregivers at Mendota Manor at Heart to Home in Mendota Heights. Carole’s family is so grateful for the exceptional care she received from everyone.

Carole was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; parents, Kenneth and Bernice; her brother, James, and many other loved ones on both sides of the family. She is survived by her children, Ann, Jane (Matt) and John (Jane); her grandchildren, Ali, Brendan and Xavier, along with many cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to The Lewy Body Dementia Association or Mission Outpost at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Burnsville.
