June 12, 1942 - January 23, 2016
Carole Lee Larsen (Erickson) passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2016, after a long struggle with pancreatic cancer, at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 11 days. Carole was born on June 12, 1942 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Lloyd Theodore Erickson and Helen Vivian Erickson (Johnson). She grew up in her early years in south Minneapolis, Minnesota and later moved to Bloomington, Minnesota, where she attended high school. She graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1964 with a degree in elementary education. Her early career was spent teaching Kindergarten classes in various locations. She later began a career in banking. She was employed by Wells Fargo and its Minnesota predecessors for 29 years. After retirement, she moved with her husband to Holiday Island, Arkansas. It was on a visit to Minnesota to attend her fiftieth class reunion at Gustavus Adolphus and to visit family and friends that she became ill.
Carole was known for her sense of humor and her love of games, whether cards, mahjong or board games. The games were one way which allowed her to express her love of people, which was reflected into her wide array of loyal friends, stretching from her high school years to her retirement years. She quickly made friends wherever she went.
She is survived by her husband, Dean; one son, Brett Carlson (Melissa); three grandchildren, Mikayla, Olivia, and Zackary; a brother, Douglas; an uncle, Richard Johnson; numerous cousins and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
