Carolyn R. Hoff - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

March 13, 1987 - March 21, 2025

Carolyn Rose Hoff, age 38 passed away in her South Minneapolis home on 03/21/2025 in the loving company of her pets. Carolyn is now joined together with her one true love, Ryan Drury, who preceded her in death on 04/03/2024.

Carolyn was born on 03/13/1987 in Minneapolis. As her maternal great aunt, Rose, leaned into the hospital bassinet the day after Carolyn was born and laid eyes on baby’s dimples and exclaimed “She looks like a perfect little rosebud!” The nickname was Carolyn’s forever.

In 1991, Carolyn moved with her parents, Tom & Karen Hoff and sister, Christine, to Prior Lake. Attended Prior Lake High School, graduating in 2005. She was a natural athlete and chose to play tennis because of the cute uniform skorts. Carolyn excelled as a percussionist in the high school band, but her greatest joy was theater. She was in numerous plays in high school and with the Prior Lake Community Theater.

Here's a sampling of Carolyn’s varied employment history: hostess at Bonfire, wiped down cars at Paradise Car Wash, delivered for Pizza N Pasta, delivered weekend StarTribune newspapers (in her tiny VW bug!)

Carolyn attended University of Minnesota and was smitten when she met Ryan Drury.
They shared many of the same passions, live music-concerts, festivals being top (although Ryan did not share Carolyn’s enthusiasm over HANSON), love of rescue animals, sense of humor and a large friend group.
While Carolyn was miserable when Ryan had a semester in Fairbanks, she was busy obtaining a AAS in Massage Therapy from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington. After graduation, Carolyn joined Ryan in Milwaukee when he was transferred by Braun Intertec.

Carolyn worked in a few salons before opening her own business: Formations Massage and Bodywork in Minneapolis. Ryan was instrumental in the success of Formations-advice, sounding board, decorator and moving the extremely heavy massage table.

Roxie, Maverick and Oprah will be staying in Prior Lake with unlimited love & treats from Gamma and Gampa.

Carolyn will missed forever. Love you, Sweet Baby.

Our hearts are so heavy and feel like the world is just a tad darker without Carolyns irresistible spark. It brings a little peace knowing her and Ryan are reunited.

I’m one of Carolyn’s longtime clients and I loved her very much. I’m terribly sad that she has left this life, but I know how hard losing Ryan was for her and I pray she’s at peace and they are together again. To her family, please know she lovingly relieved the pain of many during her time on earth. She is deeply missed.
