Charles Edward House “Chip”

February 26, 1966 - January 18, 2025

Charles Edward House "Chip", age 58, of Minneapolis, passed away on January 18, 2025, surrounded by his adoring family. Incredibly smart and equally humble, Chip saw the best in everyone. Calm, kind, and wise, he navigated life with grace, a generous heart, and always with a smile. He was the best parts of life: husband, father, son, brother, cheerleader, teacher, bandmate, confidant and friend. Chip was the best human at a time when the world needs more like him.

Above all, it was Chip's family that he cherished the most. He loved being a dad to Carter and Cate more than anything.

Chip is survived by his wife, Teresa Coryell House; their kids, Carter and Cate; his brothers, Dan (Mary) and Rob (Linnea); as well as his parents, Dr. James and Janelle House; his in-laws, Joel and Diane Coryell; brother-in-law, Tony; nieces, nephews, cousins and a loving village of friends and chosen family near and far.

The service will be livestreamed at https://mtolivet.org/live-on-sundays

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Chip House Memorial Fund, 5306 - 40th Avenue S., Minneapolis, MN 57, or to a charity of your choice in Chip's memory. Better yet, play some music, share a smile, and be knd to someone who needs it. That's what Chip would have done.

My condolence to Chips family and close friends!! I remember Chip from elementary school in the Hobbit Holes! What a wonderful smile and ambitious energy! He was my first crush. I think he knew I liked him and was always very kind to a year younger in grade! I remember his bands in HS.
Sorry for your loss. I hope great memories stay with you always!!

  2. I never met Chip, but heard stories from his very proud Dad, with whom I worked with at the VA. What a sad loss for everyone.

He was a “Founding Member” of the “Big WU”…but he also played as a fill in drummer for my band “Seth Sam and The Jam Band” on several occasions. Chip was an agreeable fellow whenever I has to work with him and I hear he went on to make a big splash in the world of “Hi- Tech”. Chip will be missed by all of us. Rest well sweet prince…..

It was brutal and nearly unbelievable to see the speed that ALS took my little brother down. I choose to remember him as the fast little yellow haired kid that I threw many footballs to, skied and slid down many hills with, and we had fun camping and playing eraser tag with Troop 186, etc. He was a great talent, and was blessed with incredible natural ability, especially in his drumming, and he will be missed by so many.
Rest in peace Chip, and may God continue to bless your beautiful family in your absence here.
