BURNS, Charlotte M., age 93, of Edina, was born on November 14, 1926, and passed away on August 17, 2020. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob. Survived by her children, Diane (Terry) Henthorn, Shelley Burns, Bob Burns Jr.; granddaughter, Natalie Burns; great-granddaughter, Paige and other relatives and friends. Charlotte graduated from Washburn H.S. and attended the U of MN. She met Bob Burns at the age of 15 and they were married in 1947. Char was selfless, a classy, independent, quietly fierce, a fabulous cook & hostess and volunteer extraordinaire. She was the “wind beneath our wings”. Char did everything and did it well! Her passions were her family & friends, music, piano, travel, dogs, bridge, and advocacy work with NAMI MN as a founder to raise consciousness for mental illness.
Private interment, Ft. Snelling.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to NAMI of MN.

To my special Sister-n-Law. My heart goes out for your family, more than you know. We should be there to comfort you and Natalie, and Page, but due to the Covid, It is to chancey for Mom, but we are their, with our hands on your shoulders. Your Mom was and is a very special, unique woman, with so much love, and it filtered down to her loving daughter. I know my time for this will come in time, and we are never prepared for this. Thank you so very much Kathy for your loving words of comfort. I totally understand not coming here under the circumstances – way too iffy for your mom. It was a lovely Celebration of mom’s life with beautiful music, gorgeous flowers and wonderful memories of my amazing mother. I will send you the funeral video.
