Donald Clifford Derrick age 84. Passed away peacefully on September 11, 2019. Don was born and raised in Minneapolis and attended Roosevelt High School where he loved to play sports and made lifelong friends. His closest, Har Carlson, was always there for Don, from grade school to the end. After high school he served in the Army. He was a loyal employee at Northwestern Bell/AT&T for 36 years and made many good friends. Don and his then wife, Gloria, raised their three children in Richfield, MN where he lived the duration of his life. Don is survived by son Scott, daughters Lisa (Scott) Johnson, and Lynn (David) Menz. Grandpa Don was loved by all his grandkids; Nicole, Johnny, Samantha, Rachel, Brian, Amy, Mike, and three great-grandkids; Brock, Grady, and Chase. All your “Honeys” will miss you so much!

Donald Derrick visited with me in October 2018 at the Derrick family dinner, attended by Gloria, their children and grandchildren. Don’s life is a wonderful legacy and will be remembered by all whose lives he touched. I will miss him. Gloria is a first cousin to me through her mother Lahja Gisslen
So sad to hear that Donald Derrick has died. We visited with Donald Derrick around 1982 in Minneapolis as we were passing through to visit with Gloria Derrick, a relative of Venus. The obituary is very nice and we offer condolences to his children and grandchildren.
