Edward B. Hagen - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

Edward B. Hagen age 80 of Bloomington. Ed was born on October 1, 1943, in Granite Falls, Minnesota, to Bennett and Helen Hagen. He grew up on the family farm alongside his three siblings: Ellen, Robert, and Lois. In 1964, Ed left his hometown to work for Noyal Thorson Blacktopping in Bloomington, Minnesota, as a truck driver.

On September 4, 1965, Ed married Janice Kurtzbein and settled in Bloomington, Minnesota where they raised their four children: Keven, Kristy, Karla, and Kari.

In the early 1970’s, Ed bought an International dump truck from Noyal and started Hagen Trucking, Inc.

Ed enjoyed spending time with fellow truck drivers, playing horseshoes, snowmobiling, bowling, and playing cards. He also cherished time at the cabin with his family and had a passion for collecting John Deere tractors.

Ed is survived by his wife, Janice; his son, Keven (Angie) Hagen; his daughters, Kristy (Don) Foss and Kari (Jeff) Vollrath; and his grandchildren, Kassie (Jimmy) Foss, Kole (Reagan) Foss, Trent Vollrath, Brett Vollrath, Matthew Hagen, and Jordan Hagen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Lois Broberg, and his daughter Karla Hagen.

Ed passed away on Sunday, July 7th, at the age of 80.

    I only drove for Hagen Trucking for one season. You could tell Ed cared about his drivers and wanted them to succeed. My thoughts and prayers are with Janice, Keven, and the entire Hagen family/ drivers.
