Elaine Barbara Reis (Rempher) of Apple Valley (formerly Bloomington), was a caring wife, mother, Grandmother, sister & friend. She left this world suddenly on December 19, 2024, at the age of 81.
Elaine was born to Adolph & Barbara Rempher on February 21, 1943, in Aberdeen, SD. Elaine grew up on a farm in Mina, SD and later married Duane Reis. Elaine & Duane raised their 5 children in Bloomington, MN where Elaine worked at Control Data (General Dynamics) as a QC Inspector for their space division for over 35 years.
Elaine’s pride and joy were her children and grandchildren and were always the highest priority in her life. Elaine had an infectious laugh and enjoyed the company of her many friends and welcomed her children’s friends warmly into her life and into her home. Elaine was an avid bowler in her younger years and enjoyed playing in leagues with her friends and husband. She was a talented piano & accordion player and was a part of her family band in her youth with her late brother & parents. Elaine was a talented dancer and enjoyed dancing the Waltz, 2-Step, Polka and Jitter Bug with her late husband.
Elaine is survived by her children Debbie Edmunds (Eddie), Dion (Michelle) Reis, Danette Colin, Donna (Pat) Murphy & Bob Reis; Grandchildren Taylor Olien, Colton Edmunds, Katie Edmunds, Nick (Emilii) Reis, Tyler (Cassie) Reis, Hannah Reis, Rylee (Gage Bakke) Colin, Madeline (Andrew) Smith, Christopher (Kylie Buck) Murphy, Isaac Murphy and Sam Reis; great-grandchildren, Michael & Lucas Reis.
Preceded in death by her husband Duane; parents Adolph & Barbara Rempher; brother, Vernon; and son-in-law, Eddie Edmunds.

To the Reis family…I’m very sorry for the loss of your mother. She was a great person and I have fond memories of her. I’m sorry I couldn’t make it up for the funeral. Thinking of you all today.
