Eleanor J. Amundson

Eleanor J. Amundson, age 96, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2018. She was born December 22, 1921 in Cooperstown, ND. She moved with her parents to a small farm near Hanley Falls, MN where she attended country school and then graduated from Hanley Falls High School. She attended Business College in Minneapolis, MN and met the love of her life, Malcolm Amundson shortly after he had enlisted in the military. It was three years before Malcolm had completed his tour of duty and they were married in Hanley Falls, MN on May 18, 1946. In 1954, Malcolm and Eleanor moved and settled in Richfield, MN and became active members of House of Prayer Lutheran Church. Eleanor loved her church and her family was the heart of her existence. Preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Emma Oftedahl; husband, Malcolm; baby, Jane M Amundson and brothers, Gene and Joan (wife), and Glenn Oftedahl. She is survived by her sons, Boyd (Conni Dresher), Ross (Nancy Rollins), Graydon (Julie Cherro); grandsons, Matthew (Andy), Nicholas (Billy), Dusty and Kevin (Jenna); sister-in-law, Darlene Oftedahl; niece, nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.
