Just 3 days shy of 92, she passed away peacefully, on August 22, 2020. Resided in Bloomington, MN. Preceded in death by loving husband, William C. Jewell, Sr.; mother, Anna McKellip; father, Selmer Sampson; brother, Kenneth Sampson; son, Kenneth Smart; son-in-Law, James Maertz; and great-granddaughter, Kirra O’Connor. Survived by her daughters, Janice Popovich (Duane), Beverly Hermanstorfer (Mark) and Kathleen Maertz (Martin Simonet); daughter-in-law, Nancy Smart; 7 beloved grandchildren, Jessica, Kevin, Charles, Parker, John, Lauren, and Kenneth; 6 precious great-grandchildren; many relatives and a large diverse group of good friends. Eleanor was a determined woman with a can-do attitude. Creative, thoughtful, empathetic, and generous is how she will always be remembered.
