Anderson, Elise H. age 96, of Edina MN passed away October 13, 2015. Elise Hanna Hoplin was born to Ole and Esther (Nelson) Hoplin on April 19, 1919 in Lowry, MN. She grew up in Lowry, graduating from Glenwood High School in 1937. She completed training at Swedish Hospital School of Nursing in 1941. Her career as a nurse included: private duty, VA hospital, St. Olaf College student health services, Bloomington MN schools, Head Start in Pierre SD, and Ebenezer in Minneapolis. She married James V. Anderson August 16, 1947. She had a lifetime love of learning and volunteering, receiving a distinguished service award from the governor of Mississippi recognizing ten years of giving her time and talents. She was known as an energetic and generous hostess in her home, at church events, in her volunteer roles, and during two years with the Lutheran World Federation Service to Refugees in post-WWII Germany. She loved her time with family and friends, cooking, baking, traveling in North America and Europe, various crafts including re-finishing furniture, collecting Danish blue plates, gardening, genealogy, and all things Swedish. She is survived by husband, James V. Anderson; sons, Nathan (Suzanne), Rolf (Kim); grandchildren, Sam (Marlea), Katelyn (fiancé Jason), Isak, and Joe; great grandchildren, Kiara, Owen, April, Ivan, and Julian; sister, Miriam (Lynn) Lundin; sisters-in-law, Doris Hoplin, Muriel Hoplin, Dorothy Hoplin, and Connie Aagesen, and brother-in-law, Tom Malone. She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel; brothers, Oliver, Glenn, Donald and Paul Hoplin and sister, Ruth Huettl. She has also been richly blessed in life by her nieces and nephews.
