August 13, 1914 - May 25, 2020
Evelyn J. Erickson, age 105, of Richfield, passed peacefully in her sleep and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 25, 2020. Preceded in death by husband of 55 years, Clarence; son, Douglas; parents, Oluf and Annie Thompson; sisters, Grace Aaseby and Mildred Hendrickson. Survived by daughter, Janet Gingerich (Bob); daughter-in-law, Judy Leach (Tim); grandchildren, Shelley Abrams (Adam) and Leanne Erickson; great-grandchildren, Joseph Abrams and Evan Abrams; Marlene and Ralph Zick and additional nieces and nephews. Evelyn was active in Woodlake Church bible study, choir, teaching Sunday school and funeral luncheons. Church was important to her and making sure that her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren had that foundation. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she loved to bake, read and entertain. She would wake up every morning and look out her kitchen window and say, "This is the day the Lord has made, rejoice and be glad in it".
Many thanks to the staff at York Gardens, especially RuthAnn and Joan, as well as Kris and Jenny of Fairview Hospice.
While COVID19 positive, she never experienced the devastating effects that others are experiencing. She just wanted everyone to be safe. Due to COVID19 a private service and interment will be at Lakewood Cemetery.
Memorials preferred to Woodlake Lutheran Church of Richfield, Minnesota.
