Gary W. Krueger

Gary Wilfred Krueger, 78, of Edina, Minnesota, passed away on January 5, 2025 after a brave struggle with multiple sclerosis and dementia in his later years.

Gary was born on September 1, 1946 in Minneapolis and resided in Richfield during his youth. He married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Allington (Scrabeck), and was the long-time owner of Veteran Electronics in Richfield. In the early 1970’s, he and his young family moved to Edina, where he would reside the majority of his adult life.

Gary will be remembered by those who were closest to him for his big smile, witty remarks, deep affection for family, strong work ethic, and countless nuggets of imparted wisdom. He was a deeply engaged and supportive parent to Bill and Michelle during their youth and throughout all the times that mattered most. In his difficult recent years, he was thankful for the assistance and loving support of Michelle, Pat, Bill and others.

Gary adored his adopted hometown of Edina and enjoyed maintaining a nice home and yard. On any given day, neighbors might see Gary outside throwing the ball around with his kids, jogging/running, maintaining his immaculate yard, washing the family cars, sunbathing, or grilling. Even later in life, he continued to follow Edina high school sports and was happy to reminisce about all things Edina.

Preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred (Bill) and Audrey Krueger; sister, Carol, and brother, Michael. Survived by his children, William (Bill) Krueger (Leticia Esparza), and Michelle Schwartz (Jay Maloney); ex-wife, Patricia Allington (William Allington); sisters, Kathleen Carleton, and Susan Krueger (Bruce Carlson); brother, Robert Krueger; five grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.
