Glen Jerome Winger

Glen Jerome Winger, of Richfield, MN passed away on July 30, 2018. He was 97 years old. Born in Little Falls, Wisconsin on September 11, 1920. He was a kind, thoughtful and generous man. Glen was baptized and confirmed in the Little Falls Church, WI. Glen attended Little Falls School, then graduated from Amery High School, Amery, WI. Later he attended Dunwoody Institute, Minneapolis, MN. He enlisted in the US Navy and served four years. He married Ione Ackerman in 1950. Glen was employed as a sheet metal worker in a civilian position at the US Air Force Reserve base for 32 years and loved his job. Glen loved his church - Mt. Calvary Lutheran in Richfield, MN, volunteering a lot. He liked music and sang in the church choir. He was an avid reader. Preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Jennie Winger; sister, Muriel Winger, one sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law. Survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Ione; sons, Jay and Larry Winger; sister, Joyce Anderson, of Amery, WI, and numerous nephews and nieces.
