Harold Carl Lofgren, age 87 of Richfield. Harold was born in Minneapolis on November 10, 1925, and died peacefully on Good Friday, March 29, 2013. Survived by wife of 54 years, Vivian; daughter, Linda (Henry) Ruetz; grandchildren, Emily, Naomi, and Rosalie Ruetz; sister, Marian (Anson) Williams. Preceded in death by son, Scott. Harold was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. He married Vivian Lathrop in 1959. He was employed by Honeywell in Minneapolis and Golden Valley from 1952 until retirement in 1987. Harold enjoyed fishing, his lake home, playing the accordion and harmonica, and biking and cross-country skiing in his younger days. He played in harmonica bands in Minneapolis and at his winter home in Mesa, Arizona. He had been a participant and leader of book groups for many years. Harold was confirmed at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in south Minneapolis, and was a member of Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church for 54 years.
