Hazel E. O’Day

Hazel E. O'Day age 92 of Richfield MN, passed away on June 13, 2024. Born June 14, 1931 in Nicollet MN, she graduated from the Academy for the Blind in Faribault MN in 1949. She was a stenographer before becoming a homemaker and raising her two children. She is preceded in death by her husband Michael, who passed away in 2003 and her sister Ethel Goplen (Sherman). Blind from birth, she was an immaculate homemaker and a good cook. She and her husband were inseparable, spending summers at their cabin on Briggs Lake, where she loved to fish, and winters in Las Vegas, where she liked to play the slot machines. Upon Michael's passing, she became an avid Minnesota Twins fan and did social activities with friends at Vision Loss Resources.

She is survived by her two children, Bonnie (Bob Hartt) and Michael (Allison); grandchildren, Daniel and Elizabeth (Sean McNamara).
