Jennifer Cox - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

March 6, 1968 - November 6, 2018

Jennifer Lynn Cox died on November 6, 2018 at age 50. Jeni grew up in Bloomington and attended Fraser School in Richfield beginning at age 3. She later attended Bloomington schools, graduating from Kennedy High School in 1989. She worked at a number of part time jobs and preferred office type jobs.

Jeni lived in a group home in Robbinsdale for many years, then moved to a Wingspan residence in Bloomington in 2015.

Jeni was a born leader, teaching people around her how to live in the moment, experience emotions, and express opinions. Jeni knew her own mind and was unafraid to let people know what she thought. Her zest for any undertaking — whether it was painting, doing word find puzzles, working with yarn, or scanning Sunday paper ads for good deals — is a testament to her enthusiasm and spirit.

Ever the problem solver, Jeni’s innovated solutions to the challenges she faced were nothing short of ingenious. During the last few years of her life, she looked to her faithful companion, Marley, for guidance and reassurance when faced with a difficult situation. Even during challenging times, Jeni was always ready with a laugh or a smile and a pat on the shoulder to comfort those around her.

Jeni is survived by her parents Russ and Carol, brothers Jeff and Tom, and sister Diana Korpi.

Family requests memorials to Portland Avenue United Methodist Church or Wingspan Life Resources in lieu of flowers
