John Robert Witt - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

October 14, 1955 - November 30, 2024

John Robert Witt age 69, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Saturday November 30th, 2024.

John was born in Minneapolis on October 14th, 1955. He was raised in Richfield with his four siblings- Kate, Jeff, Joe and Anne. He went to Richfield High School and then went off to University of MN Morris. There, he graduated with an education degree and was able to play his favorite game, football. After college, he met his (now ex) wife, Tammy. They were married for twenty years and had two children together, Robert and Elizabeth “Lizzie.”

John always loved the simpler things in life. He loved to go golfing with his kids, watch the Gophers with his best friends, go for bike rides, have lunch with his siblings, go for a ride in his 1965 Buick Special, but most of all, he loved to spend time with his granddaughters. He was a loved father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed by many.

John is survived by his son, Robert; daughter, Elizabeth “Lizzie”; son-in-law, Bradley; granddaughters, Hattie and Mara; brothers, Jeff and Joe; sister, Ann and sister-in-law, Patricia.

One of the best guys with the greatest sense of humor ever. Glad I had the chance to get to know and live with him at the TKE House in Morris 4 years and stay in touch. Truly appreciated his showing up at a baseball tournament this summer showing support and getting to share stories after.
