With deepest sympathies to Mrs. Stehr’s family. Mrs. Stehr was my kindergarten teacher 1975-76 at Valley View Elementary in Bloomington, MN. She was a great teacher. I remember learning a lot from her and what school would be like for all of us just starting on our educational path. I remember the Circus we had and invited our family’s to, to hear us sing and dance. I remember us making cinnamon applesauce in class. We had a real Christmas tree in class that we decorated. Such wonderful memories from such a wonderful teacher! Rest in Peace Mrs. Stehr. You were one of the best!
I also had the privilege of being one of Mrs. Stehr’s Kindergarten students from 1975-1976 at Valley View Elementary. I remember the life-sized drawings we did of ourselves and the wonderful clothes pin/hairpray lid/plaster of paris recipe holders that we made, which included a snickerdoodle recipe. To this day, it remains one of my favorite cookies because it reminds me of her. I credit Mrs. Stehr for sparking my life-long love of school and education, all beginning in her Kindergarten class. Thank you, Mrs. Stehr!
Thank you so much for your kind words and memories. I printed your thoughts and placed them on our memory table. My mother loved teaching and seeing kids grow in knowledge and life lessons. Many dinner table conversations were the funny things that happened that day. She had my help sorting each kids’ projects for conferences and making items for the ever changing bulletin boards. Many fun memories came to the surface lookong through photo albums.
I am so glad my mother was a positive impact on your life.
