Kelly was a wonderful soul and had a wide circle of friends that cared for him. We will miss him dearly, his visits and homemade wildlife cards and ceramics. And he always had food to share and loved to entertain and invite friends from work and the neighborhood. South Minneapolis will not be the same. Love

I have fond memories of Kelly throughout my whole life. From just hanging out in the garage with my dad and uncles, to painting me a mural from my wedding day, Kelly was such a good friend to everyone he knew. I’m hoping you are having a great time with my dad on the other side!

  3. Steve Lathrop says:

I met Kelly in grade school and we became lifelong friends. I always enjoyed our times together at his house, and our short visits when randomly running into each other in the neighborhood. I am thankful to have, and do treasure, a few ceramic pieces he made. I am very sad to have lost my friend, and send my deepest sympathies to all friends and family. ~until we meet again~ Steve Lathrop

My Uncle Kelly, he was alway fun to have conversations with. So glad he and grandma shopped the store I worked at for 10 years. He always looked for me. He would always send me home after visiting the house with an eagle or a wolf ceramic that he painted. He would tell me so many stories about grandpa, I so much enjoyed hearing grandpa talk. Kelly just kept that connection. Kelly was a great and kind person, I wish the family was more solid. RIP Kelly, you go have a beer with the family up there!!

I worked with Kelly for many years at the NCO Club at Ft. Snelling. Not only was a good co-worker but also a great friend, even after we no longer worked at the Club. I will miss our long conversations by telephone and fun visits together in person . The wildlife paintings and ceramic creations he made for me will be nice memories of the kind, loving person that he was. Kelly, you will never be forgotten by me and many others whose lives that you touched. ~With sincere sympathy, Maria Price

Kelly was my neighbor that turned into a choosen family member. He was kind hearted with the ability to say it like it is. His love for the outdoors and the arts bonded us. You could always find him outside working to the yard, painting. or visiting with the neighborhood. He honestly kept this South Minneapolis neighborhood a tight knit family, making sure we all did our part to care for eachother. Thank you Kelly for being a great friend

I first came to know Kelly thru my daughter who is from the neighborhood. When we would walk the dogs Kelly was often sitting on his deck and always up for a good conversation. He was a good person and I know he will be missed. RIP Kelly

Grew up on same block as Kelly, got to know him better over the past 30 years. Am great guy who watched out for all. Very warm very inviting and very talented. He and my father are good friends and they seemed to look out for one another, just a beautiful relationship. I think Kelly had that with a lot of people. Will miss him,his open garage(the parties in there and the art that also came out of there) and his gentle kindness to all.

  10. Christy says:

I just heard about this from a neighbor – shocked & incredibly sad. I remember walking our dogs as a kid past his house when his dad lived there and saying hello. My mom taught him in high school and she would often stop by his house with her Golden Retriever for some dog treats. We enjoyed his eclectic yard and chatting with him. The neighborhood will not be the same without him.

  11. Sandy Heneikson says:

I knew Kelly from when he was in 5th grade. I was finishing an art degree and he was in the art room. Knew his folks from walking past their house when they were standing on the step with their dog. All these years have gone by, admiring his gardens and stopping to get a treat from Kelly. My dog Sophie will be heart broken. Rest in peace and keep heaven in the most interesting and beautiful place! Love, Sandy & Sophie
