Great times spent together! Have a wonderful journey! The music lives on!
Wally. Absolutely one of a kind. Sweet, unique musical intelligence. His like won’t come this way again.
I hadn’t seen you in forty years and was thrilled to connect with you in 2011. We jammed at your place for a couple hours, fooling around with blues and such. The time comes for me to leave and I ask you if you know Oleo, the Sonny Rollins tune. You launch into an eight minute rendition, blazing away. I will always remember and be thankful for the experience of having you as a friend and fellow guitarplayer. Bud
My wife and I — both musicians — moved to Minnesota in 1994, and Wally was one of the first musicians we met after we arrived. One of the first and certainly one of the best!
RIP, Dear Friend — you will be greatly missed!
I just met Wally this past summer. Played one small gig with him. Quite a character, and amazing on the guitar. So long Wally. The world was a better place for having you in it.
World Class Jazz Guitarest. Wally was a master artist who dedicated his entire life to expressing an inner beauty that rang out from his soul each day. He brought to us harmony with his own special rhythm of Love. All who heard his music here now stand to applaud as he leaves the stage. We step back, bow in awe, and carry on playing with
his influence. May your soul continue to ring out through the entire universe in harmony with peace.
