Lucille Martha Brown, age 96, formerly of Bloomington. Born in Bruno, MN on Dec. 23, 1916 to Ivan and Martha (Saastad) Skinner. Her childhood years were spent in Bruno and her teenage years in Hinckley, MN where the family had moved. After graduation from high school, she worked in a local store until 1942 when she was married to Robert Brown of Hinckley. The couple lived in Louisiana for a short time during WWII and then in St. Paul and Bloomington after the war. they also lived in Japan for two years and Minot ND for six years before settling again in Bloomington. Lucille was church pianist and organist for many years in the churches which they attended, and also served as choir director for a while. She composed a number of hymns, some of which are in publication. Lucille went to be with the Lord on Sept. 21, 2013. Survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Robert Brown; sons, Alan Brown (Jeannette) and Steven Brown (Junghi); granddaughter, Simone Brown. Preceded in death by sister, Hattie Skinner, and brother, Rev. Leonard Skinner.
