April 19, 1927 - October 28, 2015
Margaret Andreen Jakway “Peggy” age 88 of Edina, Minnesota passed away on October 28, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew A. and Taletta Stave, both young immigrants from coastal Norway; her brother, Charles Harvig Stave of Santa Barbara, California; her husband, John Walter Jakway II; and her infant son, Wesley Kevin Jakway. She is survived by her son, Charles Henry Jakway III and wife, Teresa Williams-Jakway of White Bear Township, Minnesota; and their children, Austa Andreen Jakway and John W. Jakway III both of St. Paul. Peggy was born on April 19, 1927 in Deer Park, Wisconsin and raised in Duluth graduating from Denfeld High School in 1944 and Hamline University School of Nursing in 1948. She was married to her husband John for 60 years prior to his death in 2009. Together they ministered to the communities of Lamberton-Sanborn, Hastings, Hibbing and Edina. She was a doting grandmother, dutiful parent, devoted wife and devout Christian living a life of service to others. She was a cardiac care nurse with extended careers in Hibbing General and Fairview Southdale Hospitals. She was a member of Church of Peace United Methodist Church in Richfield singing in their choir and devoting herself to leading others to faith. She will be missed by her family, her church, and a strong cadre of friends who came to her aid up until the time of her passing. Yet for the gift of salvation she’s crossed that River Jordon to become one more Alto in that Choir of Angels.
Memorials may be directed to Church of Peace.

Dear Chuck,
I don’t know if you remember me, but we worked together at the Bloomington unemployment office 40 years ago! My deepest sympathies for the loss of your Mother. She sounds like she was a very special lady.
