April 9, 1938 - May 15, 2023
Peggy Knutson, age 85 of Bloomington passed away on May 15, 2023 and is now at home with Jesus.
Margaret "Peggy" Knutson was born April 9th, 1938 to Curtis Maxson and Margaret Maxson (nee' Solem). She grew up in Minneapolis with older brother David and younger sister Susan. They moved to Bloomington in the early 50s where she graduated from Bloomington High School in 1956 as class valedictorian.
Soon after, she met and married the love of her life, a Lakeville boy, Gordon Knutson. She followed Gordy to Germany when he served in the army. After his discharge, they soon moved into their home of 60+ years in Bloomington. Then shortly after adopted Joyce and John to make their family complete. Around this time Peggy became very active with their church and many Bible study groups. She enjoyed in her spare time being with family at the cabin, playing music and being with friends and neighbors.
Peggy really loved being a grandmother to her 3 granddaughters and watching them grow up. Throughout her life, the Lake Sylvia cabin was a sanctuary for friends and family to gather and make memories. She showed great courage and strength during her battle with cancer, mainly because of her strong faith, family and friends. She will be sorely missed by all but is for sure home in heaven now.
Preceded in death by husband, Gordon and sister, Susan (Ronald) Corwine. Survived by daughter, Joyce (Randy) McClain and son, John Knutson; granddaughters, Nicole, Kyli, Lexi and other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Memorials may be directed to Bloomington Lutheran Church, Camp Chi Rho or to donor's choice.
