Marilyn Ann Vogelgesang ( Smith ), age 78, of Richfield, died peacefully with her family around her January 15, 2013, Survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Henry Vogelgesang; children, Colette Dolan ( Robert ), Mark Vogelgesang, Jim Vogelgesang, Dave Vogelgesang and Sue Glover ( Bob ); grandchildren, Melissa Weigand ( Scott ), Laura Stotts-Gorans ( Bob ), Karen Stotts ( Ted Kraemer ), Sarah Kopczyk ( Kyle ), Brad Glover, RyanVogelgesang, Anna Vogelgesang and Nicole Vogelgesang;  great-grandson, Henry Stotts-Gorans; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Georgianna Smith; brother, Milton Smith; her grandson, Philip Glover and sister-in-law, Rita Oestreich. Marilyn was an active member for many years and a Past President of Richfield American Legion Post 435 Auxillary. She enjoyed spending time as  a volunteer at American Legion Auxillary functions and at the Veterans Home. She was a member of St. Richard's Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with her Guild friends. Marilyn was a longtime bookkeeper for Woodhead Ford and Aqua City Plumbing which she owned with her husband for 35 years. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family at "The Family Farm", in Waverly, MN and spending summers at Oak Lake Campgrounds with all of her friends in Kerrick, MN.

    It is with great sorrow to learn of the passing of Marilyn. I remeber when she used the wheel of fortune game to get comfortable with computers and still asked the computer why it was being so mean to her. Her great sense of humor brought out the best in Hank. I am a better person to have known her.

    I have known Marilyn at least 48 years of my life. She was a wonderful lady. She will be deeply missed. My deepest sympathies to the Vogelgesng Family. Love you all. Marilyn is at peace. One day you all will be together again.
